Coach Schreiber's life-long passion for the sport began at age 7, growing up on Long Island in the state of New York. In high school, Mike earned All League -- All Conference Honors while leading his team in goal scoring and helping them earn a #1 state ranking.

 

As a college student, he earned a position on the Junior College National Champion Herkimer College team in New York.  After Herkimer Mike moved to California in 1991, joining the NCAA nationally-ranked Whittier College lacrosse team where, as the top scoring player for three years, he led the team to two Western Collegiate Lacrosse League championships and a #16 ranking in the nation.  He was also recognized as the team's Offensive Most Valuable Player. Mike was elected to the Western Lacrosse Leagues North-South game three years running, and was also elected to the First Team -- United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association for Attackmen.

 

His coaching career began in 1994 when he served as assistant lacrosse coach and the Offensive Coordinator for nationally-ranked Whittier College.

Since starting the lacrosse program at Yorba Linda HS in 2009 Coach Schreiber has led the Mustangs to 7 consecutive undefeated Century League Championships from 2013 - 2019. After leading the Mustangs into the top 5 in Orange County and Inland Empire he was elected the 2019 Orange County Coach of the year.

Andy Gregory

Yorba Linda Men's Head JV Lacrosse Coach 

Junior Varsity Head Coach Gregory joined the Yorba Linda High School coaching staff in 2011. He has coached youth sports for many years and is passionate about his role as coach. He plans to bring his hard work ethic and energy to the lacrosse field and says it is a privilege to work with our high school and Lightning Lacrosse athletes and help them in their social and athletic development to be the best lacrosse athlete on and off the field.

Ben DiBuono

Yorba Linda Men's Assistant JV Lacrosse Coach 

Lacrosse has been a lifelong passion for Coach DiBuono who learned to play with a wooden stick in 1973. Coach DiBuono is a native of Syracuse, NY and has been involved with the sport for 41 years. From there he played 21 years of club lacrosse for various teams including UCI, Brine, Orange County and Lax World. As a coach he has been dedicated to lacrosse in Yorba Linda for the past nine years including head coach at Esperanza High school from 2009-2012. For the last two years he has coached with the Yorba Linda Lightning.
