El Dorado High School Girls Head Lacrosse Coach


Coach O'Donnell is a product of Orange County's education and sports programs. He attended Servite High School, Fullerton College, Cal State Fullerton and National University. While in college, he coached with the Anaheim-based South Coast Sabers Ice Hockey Club. He played ice hockey at CSUF and led the team in goals, points, and hits during the 99-00 season. After graduating with a degree in English, he was offered the position of head coach for the UC Irvine hockey team. During his time there, the team went from winless to ranked in the ACHA national top ten. He continues to play in local leagues.


The same year he started coaching UCI, he was hired at El Dorado High School. After working with the JV team for a season, Coach O'Donnell assumed control of the El Dorado varsity girls program in 2012 and it continues to grow. When he is not with the lacrosse team, he can be found in his classroom teaching English, yearbook, newspaper, coaching EDHS girls golf, or spending time with his family.

Yorba Linda Lacrosse Academy Girls Coach


Kaelynn played a wide variety of sports until she discovered her love for lacrosse at Mater Dei High School. Her Junior year she was the JV captain and received the Heart of a Champion Award. Senior year she played starting attack as her team succeeded to the CIF quarter finals. She continued her lacrosse career at Northern Arizona University where she played starting midfield and center. By the end of the season she became one of the team's top scorers, received an MVP during the Desert Sand Tournament, and was nominated for the team leader award by her coach and captains. She will continue her education at Orange Coast College as a Psychology Major and plans to transfer to Cal State Fullerton for the 2017 school year. During her years of playing lacrosse she has shown versatility by playing a variety of positions such as attack, defense, midfield, and center. She is excited to share this experience and knowledge as she coaches for the Yorba Linda Lightning program.

After many years as a club and high school soccer player, Liz discovered her love of lacrosse at El Dorado High School where she played on their inaugural team and was named First Team All-League. She then made the Women's Divisional National Team as a junior in high school, representing Southern California in the National Tournament in Maryland.  Throughout her time at El Dorado, she coached both girls soccer and lacrosse youth teams.  From high school she was recruited to play for the University of Redlands NCAA division III team.  During her four years as a collegiate athlete, the team won three SCIAC championships and made three NCAA tournament appearances, making it to the Sweet Sixteen one year.  In addition, her team won the Berlin Open in 2012 while competing at the international level.  At Redlands, she received her degree in Biology with a double minor in Spanish and Physical Education.  She is now enrolled in the teaching credential program at Cal State Fullerton and is looking forward to a career as a high school educator and lacrosse coach.

Sydney Hermann

Born and raised in southern California, Sydney started playing lacrosse in her backyard at the age of 10 years old. After attending an indoor NLL Anaheim Storm game, she was inspired to sign up for a local co-ed club team known as the Skyhawks. She attended high school at Esperanza and was a starting attack player for their inaugural lacrosse season her junior year, and a starting midfield player her senior year. After graduating, Sydney took over the roll of JV assistant coach at Esperanza, and the following year as the JV head coach. Sydney also participated in 3 years of coaching multiple club teams around Orange County such as OC Lax. She attended college at Mt. San Antonio, graduating with a degree in Kinesiology and Wellness, and is continuing her education at Cal State Fullerton studying Health Science. She is now excited to move forward coaching with Yorba Linda Lightning.
