Lightning Lacrosse League
The Academy's Lightning League follows an eight-on-eight game format. Players compete for two 20-minute running halves with one 5-minute break inbetween. Team rosters average 13 players.
League fees cover a variety of player benefits including: league jersey, shorts, US Lacrosse-Certified referee fees, player clinic, weekly practices, eight games, team photo, and player award. Fees also cover the cost of the coach clinic, field permits and goalie equipment for player use during the season.
Players are responsible for providing their own certified lacrosse equipment. Most should be able to purchase a complete equipment package for under $200, excluding footwear.
Each team is assigned one Head Coach and one Assistant Coach from volunteer parents. In addition, one to two volunteer varsity lacrosse players from local high schools will be assigned to each team to further assist coaches. Coaches are provided a coaching manual, two free coach clinic days as well as EXTENSIVE hands-on league support and guidance from Academy coaching staff during all team practices.
Games and practices are held at Yorba Linda High School and Esperanza High School.
